"There is a slow progression towards warmer and drier conditions. " Wet weather has dominated the forecast this month, with Wales recording 200. 7mm of rain – double the monthly average – making it the wettest May in records dating back to 1862. Dorset, Bristol and eastern parts of Scotland have also been particularly hard-hit by downpours. Across the UK, it has been the 10th wettest May on record, according to Met Office figures. Despite some respite over the weekend it looks like the sunny spell could be short-lived, with forecasters warning showers and cooler weather could return early next week.
This system supports its own weight, and provides resistance to wind and snow loading, but does not contribute to the stability of the primary structure of the building. See Patent glazing for more information. Rainscreen A rainscreen (sometimes referred to as a 'drained and ventilated ' or 'pressure-equalised' façade) is part of a double- wall construction. The rainscreen itself simply prevents significant amounts of water from penetrating into the wall construction. Thermal insulation, airtightness and structural stability are provided by the second, inner part of the wall construction. See Rainscreen for more information. Timber cladding One of the most popular methods of cladding is through the use of timber softwoods, such as western red cedar. This type of wood is relatively knot-free and has a natural resistance to decay and moisture. It can be readily stained or painted and altered to create a range of profiles. Hardwoods can also be used including oak and sweet chestnut. Both of which contain high tannin levels which can result in leaching and streaking after exposure to the elements.
Created by Mekanism in partnership with the Obama administration, IT'S ON US aims to end sexual assault on college campuses by influencing and fundamentally shifting the culture around the issue. The first two years of the campaign were extremely successful in generating awareness with now 420, 000 online pledges and over 1, 500 student-run events on over 500 college campuses in all 50 states. However, there's still significant work to do in order to deconstruct the norms that perpetuate rape culture and enable sexual assault. The third year of the IT'S ON US campaign has been focused on action - rousing students to go beyond taking the IT'S ON US pledge by highlighting unacceptable cultural norms and empowering them to intervene. The objective of Autocorrect was to illustrate that intervention is not just a physical act at the cusp of an assault - it's also the act of stopping language that implicitly condones sexual misconduct. Autocorrect is a call to action for people to read the subtext: both in situations requiring action and in commonplace language that perpetuates rape culture.
