Level Contributor 68 posts Weather in november? 14 years ago Is early november still pleasant enough to visit Yosemite? What is the weather typcially like during that time of the year? 6, 329 posts 22 reviews 94 helpful votes 1. Re: Weather in november? Our wedding anniverysary is inthe third week of Nov., and we have often spent it at the park. The air can be crisp and clear, its cold and night but stlll pleasant in the day. We've biked around the valley, hiked to the top pf Vernal Falls (still flowing but you don't get wet) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many areas that are closed, like Tioga Pass and the road into the Mariposa Grove (you can hike in) but still plenty to be entertained by. A hot toddy by the fire at the Ahwahnee or the Mountain Room bar is a nice way to end the day. 2, 513 posts 84 reviews 339 helpful votes 2. Year round is pleasant enough to visit Yosemite! We particularly enjoy the crowd-lessened snow-kissed season of winter! The weather here in there can be days that are a bit tough for one who might be traveling on often fairly mild.

A rock in Abisko, Sweden fractured (along existing joints) possibly by mechanical frost weathering or thermal stress; a chullo is shown for scale Frost weathering is a collective term for several mechanical weathering processes induced by stresses created by the freezing of water into ice. The term serves as an umbrella term for a variety of processes such as frost shattering, frost wedging and cryofracturing. The process may act on a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, from minutes to years and from dislodging mineral grains to fracturing boulders. It is most pronounced in high-altitude and high-latitude areas and is especially associated with alpine, periglacial, subpolar maritime and polar climates, but may occur anywhere at sub-freezing temperatures (between -3 and -8 °C) if water is present. [1] Ice segregation [ edit] Certain frost-susceptible soils expand or heave upon freezing as a result of water migrating via capillary action to grow ice lenses near the freezing front.
