3/17/2013 – Since Raleigh is quite a drive from Durham, and most of the collective live in the Bull City, I'll go ahead and add an update from the biggest of the Triangle cities … TirNaNog 218 S Blount Street Raleigh, NC On St. Patrick's Day I joined some of my Raleigh mates in downtown to savor the effects of the parade party and reveling from the day before. Outfitted in our best green attire & mustaches, we made for the Irish Pub on Moore Square. There were plenty of Irish options on the specialty menu for the day. I was lucky to try 2 varieties; YE OLDE CELTIC NACHOS and their mashed potatoes. The Nachos are the Pub's own kettle chips piled high with a bunch of stuff. I got mine with a healthy helping of vegan chili. The chips themselves were delightfully salty, but were quickly weighted down by the chili. They got pretty soggy and unfortunately it was so busy it was tricky coming up with utensils so we could scoop up the mush. I like a bit more meat to my 'chips' but since they were 'kettle' chips I should've known.
