3. Re: Budapest or Bucharest for May 22-27? 13 years ago If smoke was your biggest concern in Prague, you'll hate Budapest and Bucharest even more:-) Seriously, though, only the Spanish seem to smoke more than Hungarians. That said, Budapest and Bucharest are VERY different experiences from Prague. Prague is a city that has a condensed tourist quarter and a sizable tourist services industry. What you see in Prague is packaged for your tourism consumption. Budapest has certainly maintained much of its heritage ( Gellert Hill / Citadella, Catsle Hill, Parlament, Heroes Square, etc) and created new tourist-oriented sites (Terror Museum, Communist Statue Park, etc) but it is an integrated city. Cultural and historical sites are intermingled with normal businesses and residences. It's a very walkable city with a great metro system, but it doesn't have the convenience of "Go to X and you'll see all the sites" Personally, I think that makes it a much better city than Prague, but others disagree.

Yes, Death Valley residents go running. Outside. Even in July. "We'd never, ever tell a visitor to go running in Death Valley in the summer, " Taylor said. "But if you run every day and your body is used to running at 119 degrees, then 120 isn't much of a difference. " Residents take extra precautions when going outside Brandi Stewart, a resident of Death Valley National Park, bakes cookies on her car's windshield. Brandi Stewart In the summer, Death Valley's heat makes even simple activities dangerous. Taylor and his family never leave the house without a backup satellite phone, just in case they lose cell reception. Stewart doesn't drive to the grocery store without her boyfriend and a huge jug of water; she also inspects her car constantly to avoid the possibility that it breaks down, stranding her in a remote area. "The biggest fear I have is getting a flat tire and having my vehicle malfunction, " she said. Taylor and Stewart both said they tell visitors to the park that they must take similar precautions.
