We routinely travel from the last week in September to the middle or end of October as it is less costly, LOL! We have only experienced one you are on island during a hurricane, you are in good hands at your resort as they know how to handle the were never afraid and never felt as though we were in very much danger. As for the are choosing to travel to the Tropics and rain is needed for it to remain tropical. We have never experienced a total wash out day or days. We have typically encountered passing storms in the afternoons with plenty of sunshine before and after a rain. Just because you will see rain forecasted every day does not mean that it will rain everyday on all parts of the island. We have been on resort property and experienced rain at the lobby but no rain on the other side of the resort. Typically, the rain is warm and you will generally be wearing beach clothes, rain showers are not a big deal. We always buy trip insurance. I personally would not cancel or change any plans just because of fear of the weather.
