So, if I were in the used motorcycle market or perhaps on a time machine set in 'reverse', which of the two would I pick? Slippery question, that. See, the RX-Z is more liveable with. It will happily putter around (not that the Shogun won't, but the Z just 'feels' more at ease) at low speeds and can also zip through, mile after mile, without a fuss. The Shogun, on the other hand, is the more introverted of the two. It just wants to roll out of the pit lane, go spoil everyone else's lap times, roll back into the pits and that's about it. No friendly handshakes and other such trivial exchanges. Sounds quite right then, no?
Are you kidding? I have driven my RX135 from Satara to Pune in 1 hr 30 min. Approx. distance 120+ km. That includes 2 ghat sections (Khambataki and Katraj). No wonder, I love that bike! Being a family man has toned down my driving now, but 5 years back, I would have shown you how capable is the bike at corners. (Some of the younger t-bhpians can still do that) 21st June 2005, 21:15 # 26 Senior - BHPian Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: N. I have also done small rides within Karnataka like trips to Hampi, Agumbe among other places. Does the fact that the bike is restored affect how much it is ridden? It is unfortunately true. I find it heartbreaking to use the bike especially during rains. Also the bike is difficult to start when it rains and need the choke to fire it up. Any cop troubles riding a Two Stroke Yamaha in Bangalore? Riding an RX in Bangalore is like riding any other bike when it comes to the legalities. You will face no cop troubles as long as your papers are up to date and is free from illegal modifications. The biggest problem of riding the bike here by a country mile would have to be the environmentalists. They are just everywhere here and I have been shouted at many times by them. I have been told many time at signals to shut the bike off with them citing its too loud and too polluting. It is not as easy as pulling away on a moped from a signal, so I keep the bike in neutral and ride off ignoring their suggestions.
