I had decided on Pensacola for it being a city, but also its location and proximity to outdoors and natural beauty but I have been really put off by what I've read on other sub-reddits about what's happening there with the rental prices and housing market. Basically house prices going through the roof due to Navy Federal relocating there somewhat recently and investors buying up all the old properties to flip or use for Air BNB, basically people are really struggling to buy property in decent areas, inflated prices for average houses, and multiple bids immediately on any available property, and there is a huge rental shortage. This is exactly the opposite of what I am looking for in terms of where I want to go. As I started looking at Baldwin County area I had also considered Fairhope (keep in mind I am a complete outsider) because it looked pretty and was walkable, but I soon realized it was really expensive.
