Re: newport beach to catalina island Here is info on the boat: $68 round trip - leaves from Newport to the island in the morning, returns in the late afternoon. Yes, you can rent golf carts on Catalina, in fact its the only vehicular transportation method available to non residents on the island (besides walking etc. )

This will keep the GOES satellite system operational through 2036. Today's launch was the 10th of the year for ULA and the 113th straight successful launch since the company was formed in December 2006. GOES-R launched on the Atlas V 541 configuration vehicle, augmented by four solid rocket boosters on the first stage. The payload fairing is 5 meters (16. 4 feet) in diameter. The first stage is powered by the RD AMROSS RD-180 engine. And the Centaur upper stage is powered by a single-engine Aerojet Rocketdyne RL10C engine. This was only the fourth Atlas V launch employing the 541 configuration. Stay tuned here for Ken's continuing Earth and Planetary science and human spaceflight news. Recently, Holmes received a Grammy nomination in the Grammy's Best Traditional Blues Album category for Cypress Grove. BENTONIA, Miss — With callused hands, Jimmy "Duck" Holmes plucks an old acoustic guitar at the juke joint his parents started more than 70 years ago. He checks the cafe's inventory: jars of pickled eggs, beef jerky, pork hocks. He tends to the wood-burning stove, made from an oil-field pipe. And every morning, he eventually settles in on a stool behind the counter, waiting — hoping — that someone who wants to hear him play will drop in. Holmes, 73, is the last Bentonia bluesman, the carrier of a dying musical and oral storytelling tradition born in this Mississippi town of less than 500 people. And now, he's a Grammy-nominated artist, with a recent nod in the Best Traditional Blues Album category for Cypress Grove, a record he hopes will help preserve the Bentonia blues long after he's gone. The world has changed around Holmes and his Blue Front Café, the country's oldest surviving juke joint.
On-site work at Stennis was stopped by NASA leadership in March 2020, around the same time many in the U. S. began working from home, due to the pandemic. The center began reopening slowly in mid-May, and the second SLS test was completed on the core stage (the orange "body" of the rocket) in late June. That test ensured that the software and other electrical interfaces involved in the rocket and the testing stand work properly. View larger. | In the January 16, 2021, test, the 4 RS-25 engines fired for a little more than a minute and generated 1. 6 million pounds of thrust. Image via NASA. The rocket has since undergone and passed the next four steps of what is called the "green run" series: – Test 3, in which engineers inspected all the safety systems that shut down operations during testing. During this test, they simulated potential problems. – Test 4, the first test of each of the main propulsion system components that connect to the engines. Command and control operations were verified, and the core stage was checked for leaks in fluid or gas.
